BRILLIANTCLOUD
BrilliantCloud — Managed Cloud
Virtual machines, Kubernetes, backup and disaster recovery hosted in Nigeria and watched around the clock from our Kano network operations centre — with the bill in Naira and no egress surprises.
What BrilliantCloud is
BrilliantCloud is our managed cloud service: virtual machines and managed Kubernetes running on infrastructure we own in Kano, with a disaster-recovery region in Abuja, monitored 24 hours a day from our network operations centre and billed in Naira. It is bought by banks and microfinance institutions, state governments and agencies, hospitals, telecommunications operators and mid-sized private firms that want cloud economics without the foreign-currency exposure, the latency, or the data-residency argument with their regulator.
The problem it solves is threefold. First, cost predictability: a dollar-denominated bill with metered egress is impossible to budget against a Naira revenue line, and clients regularly find that data transfer charges exceed compute. Second, residency: a growing number of Nigerian regulators and internal policies require that customer, patient or citizen data remain physically in the country, and an offshore region with a Nigerian billing address does not satisfy that. Third, capability: most organisations do not want to hire and retain the Kubernetes, backup and security engineers a serious platform needs.
BrilliantCloud answers all three. Hosting is physically in Nigeria and we will say exactly which building your data is in. Pricing is in Naira, published, and inbound and outbound transfer is unmetered on all standard plans. And the service is managed, not merely rented: patching, monitoring, backup verification, capacity planning, cost review and incident response are done by our engineers, of whom 96 hold current vendor certifications, under an information-security management system certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022.
For clients with existing on-premises estates or workloads already in AWS or Azure — we are an AWS Advanced Consulting Partner and a Microsoft Solutions Partner — we build hybrid connectivity rather than insisting on a wholesale migration you did not ask for. The common pattern is regulated Nigerian data held in BrilliantCloud, elastic or globally distributed workloads left offshore, and a private link between the two that we build, monitor and operate on your behalf.
What the service covers
Eight managed capabilities, delivered by our infrastructure and managed services practices from Kano, Abuja and Lagos.
Managed Virtual Machines
Compute
Provisioned, hardened and patched Linux and Windows instances with resizing on request, snapshot management, and console access, on enterprise hardware with redundant power and cooling.
Managed Kubernetes
Containers
Production clusters with control-plane management, worker node scaling, ingress, certificate automation and a private registry, with version upgrades planned, tested and executed by our engineers inside your agreed change window.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
Resilience
Scheduled encrypted backups with retention you set, cross-site replication between Kano and Abuja, documented recovery objectives, and quarterly restore tests we run and report on.
24/7 Monitoring
Kano NOC
Continuous monitoring of availability, capacity, performance and security events from our network operations centre, with defined escalation paths and a duty engineer on call at all times.
Patching & Hardening
Security
Operating system and platform patching on an agreed monthly cycle, with emergency out-of-band patching for critical vulnerabilities, plus baseline hardening, configuration drift detection and quarterly vulnerability scanning.
Cost Optimisation
Economics
Monthly review of utilisation against spend, written right-sizing recommendations, identification of idle and orphaned resources, and reserved-capacity options that cut the annual bill substantially for steady predictable workloads.
Hybrid Connectivity
Integration
Site-to-site VPN or dedicated private circuits linking your premises, BrilliantCloud and the public clouds you retain, with routing, firewalling, bandwidth and failover managed as part of the service.
In-Country Hosting
Residency
All data physically resident in Nigeria across the Kano primary and Abuja recovery sites, with written confirmation of location for your regulator and no replication abroad.

How we onboard you
A first production workload usually runs in BrilliantCloud within three to six weeks of the workshop, and a full estate migration is phased over three to nine months.
Requirements workshop
Two to three days assessing your current estate, application dependencies, recovery objectives, regulatory constraints and current spend. We produce a written migration plan with a workload-by-workload sequence.
Configuration
We build your tenancy, network segmentation, firewall policy, identity integration, backup schedules and monitoring thresholds, and agree the change window and escalation contacts before anything moves.
Data migration
Workloads are replicated to BrilliantCloud and validated while the originals keep running. Large datasets are seeded by physical transfer from Kano, Abuja or Lagos where the link would take too long.
Integration
Hybrid connectivity is established to your premises and to any public cloud you retain, DNS and certificates are prepared, and monitoring is wired into your own service desk if you operate one.
Training
Your infrastructure team is trained on the tenancy portal, change request process, backup and restore procedures, and the escalation path. Runbooks are handed over in writing rather than described verbally.
Pilot
One non-critical production workload runs live for two to four weeks while performance, backup and failover are proven, including at least one deliberate restore test that you witness.
Go-live
Remaining workloads cut over in the agreed sequence during approved change windows, each with a tested rollback. Legacy infrastructure is kept warm for an agreed period before decommissioning.
Hypercare
Ninety days of enhanced support with daily health reviews for the first fortnight, weekly thereafter, a first cost optimisation review at day sixty, and formal transition to steady-state managed service.
Questions buyers ask
Exactly where is our data held?
Does using BrilliantCloud help with NDPA compliance?
What happens to our systems when the internet link fails?
Can we keep some workloads in AWS or Azure, or on our own servers?
What are the support hours and service levels?
How do we get our systems and data out if we leave?
Is training for our own engineers included?
Free 30-day sandbox tenancy
We will provision a sandbox tenancy — two medium instances, 500 GB of storage and a backup schedule — free for thirty days, so your engineers can test a real workload before committing to anything. Migration assistance for your first ten workloads is included at no charge when you proceed. Write to [email protected] or call +234 802 913 8013.
