VACANCIES
Open Roles
Sixteen live vacancies across our engineering, cloud, security, managed services, data, delivery and commercial practices. Every genuine Brilliant Esystems vacancy appears on this page and nowhere else.
Before You Apply
The table below lists every role we are currently recruiting for, with a reference, the practice it sits in, the base location, the contract type and the closing date. Quote the reference in the subject line of your email — it is how our applicant tracking routes your CV to the correct hiring manager, and applications without a reference take considerably longer to reach the right desk. Applications close at 17:00 West Africa Time on the stated date and we do not accept late submissions except where we have re-advertised.
Read the requirements honestly but not timidly. Where we say a certification is required, it genuinely is — usually because a client contract or an ISO control demands it. Where we list years of experience, treat it as a guide to the level rather than a hard filter; we assess capability through the technical exercise and we have hired people with two years of exceptionally dense experience into roles advertised at four. What we cannot work around is a missing hard requirement such as a valid COREN registration for a role that must be signed off by a registered engineer.
Every applicant who reaches the technical assessment receives written feedback whether or not they are successful. We do this deliberately: the Nigerian technology market is small, we expect to see good people more than once, and a candidate who was six months short this year is often exactly right next year. Around one in nine of our current staff applied to us unsuccessfully before joining.

Six Roles in Detail
The headline vacancies, with what you would actually do and what we need from you. Full role profiles are sent to shortlisted applicants.
Senior Backend Engineer
BE/ENG/2601 · Kano (Hybrid) · Closes 27 February 2026
What you will do: own backend services on BrilliantRevenue, the government revenue platform now processing collections for several state internal revenue services. Design and build Spring Boot services, handle reconciliation against bank and switch settlement files, tune PostgreSQL under load, and carry the release through to the production rota. You will review other engineers’ code daily and mentor at least one junior colleague. What we need: five or more years on the JVM, deep Spring Boot, solid SQL and schema design, message queues (Kafka or RabbitMQ), containerised deployment, and the judgement to know when a distributed transaction is the wrong answer. Payment or public-sector revenue experience is a strong advantage.
Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
BE/CLD/2605 · Abuja · Closes 6 March 2026
What you will do: build and run the landing zones behind BrilliantCloud for public-sector and financial services clients. Write Terraform, manage multi-account AWS organisations, design VPC and connectivity topologies back to client premises in Abuja and Kano, and take part in migration cutovers that often run overnight. You will also be an escalation point for the managed services desk. What we need: three to six years in infrastructure, an AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or better, real Terraform in production, Linux administration you could defend under questioning, and hands-on CI/CD. Azure exposure is useful because roughly a third of our estate sits there.
SOC Analyst, Tier 2
BE/SEC/2608 · Kano · Closes 20 March 2026
What you will do: work a shift rota in our security operations centre, taking escalations from Tier 1 across an estate of more than 12,000 managed endpoints. Investigate alerts to a conclusion, run containment on confirmed incidents, tune detection rules so the same false positive does not return, and write the incident record that goes to the client. You will contribute to threat-hunting sprints and to our post-mortems. What we need: two or more years in a security operations role, comfort with a SIEM and EDR tooling, packet-level networking knowledge, scripting in Python or PowerShell, and Security+, CySA+ or an equivalent. Shift allowance applies.
Data Engineer
BE/DAT/2612 · Hybrid · Closes 10 April 2026
What you will do: build the pipelines behind BrilliantInsight for clients in banking, health and government. Model source systems that were never designed to be queried, build ingestion into a lakehouse on Azure and Databricks, own data quality checks that fail loudly, and work alongside analysts who will tell you immediately when a number looks wrong. Several engagements involve health data, so privacy controls are part of the design, not an afterthought. What we need: three or more years building production pipelines, strong SQL and Python, Spark, dimensional modelling, and orchestration with Airflow or Data Factory. Azure certification is funded if you do not already hold one.
Network Engineer
BE/MIS/2611 · Abuja · Closes 27 March 2026
What you will do: design, deploy and support enterprise networks for federal agencies and financial services clients — routing and switching, wireless, SD-WAN and Fortinet perimeter security. Expect a mix of project delivery, structured commissioning work at client sites across the north, and second-line escalation from the service desk. Some work is out of hours, planned and compensated. What we need: four or more years in enterprise networking, a current CCNP (or CCNA with strong demonstrable depth), Fortinet experience, clean documentation habits, and a full driving licence. You will be issued with the tooling and the certification path is funded.
Project Manager
BE/DEL/2614 · Abuja · Closes 6 March 2026
What you will do: run two to three concurrent public-sector engagements from initiation to handover — scope, plan, budget, risk register, steering committee reporting and the difficult conversation when a client dependency slips. You will work with engineering leads rather than over them, and you will be judged on delivered outcomes and client relationships rather than on the tidiness of the plan. What we need: four or more years managing technology delivery, PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP, genuine experience of Nigerian public-sector procurement and reporting rhythms, commercial literacy around change control, and the composure to chair a steering committee with directors in the room.
How to Apply
Four steps. The whole process usually takes four to six weeks from the closing date.
Prepare your CV
Two to three pages, in PDF, named Surname_Firstname_Reference.pdf. Lead with what you built and what changed as a result, not with a list of technologies. Include certifications with their expiry dates, your notice period and your current location. A short covering note of no more than 200 words explaining why this particular role helps considerably; a generic one does not.
Email [email protected]
Put the role reference and title in the subject line — for example "BE/ENG/2601 — Senior Backend Engineer". Attach the CV and any portfolio links in the body of the message rather than as separate files. You will receive an automatic acknowledgement with a tracking reference within 2 working days; if it does not arrive, resend, because the message did not reach us.
Complete the technical assessment
Shortlisted applicants receive a practical exercise sized for no more than 4 hours and drawn from work we genuinely do. You have 5 calendar days to submit and we mark within 3 working days against a published rubric. Submit what you have even if it is incomplete, with a note on what you would do next — we score reasoning as well as output.
Interviews and offer
A ninety-minute technical panel with engineers from your prospective practice, then a forty-five-minute values interview with a director and a colleague from another team. A verbal offer follows within 5 working days, then a written contract, references and document verification. Start dates are normally the first Monday of the following month.
